Sparrow's Nest Organics supplies a variety of
vendors in
Edmonton. Our favorite restaurants include: Culina (including
Culina Muttart), Corso 32, Elm Cafe, Noorish Restaurant, Prairie Bistro
at the new Enjoy Centre in St. Albert. And we are regular
suppliers to Earth's General Store.

Our Edmonton-area Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
garden links local consumers who want fresh, organically grown produce,
to a local farmer. Members buy a "Share" in springtime, paying for
their Summer's vegetables when we need cash to start another growing
season.

As the garden grows and produce matures, you pick up your equal "Share" every week, at one of two locations in Edmonton. The produce is washed, boxed and labeled. Sharers select from a menu board vegetables available that week: each week is different.
A typical weekly Share could include: bunched carrots and beets;
potatoes; broccoli or cauliflower; kale or Swiss chard; onion or leek;
lettuces; herbs (parsley, oregano, marjoram, basil, thyme); peas or
beans; radish; summer squash; tomato; pepper.

Produce doesn't get any fresher. Have you seen pathetic, wilted, brown lettuces and other "greens" throughout the Summer in Edmonton's grocery stores? It's pathetic. Our produce is FRESH and full of vitamins and other nutrients.
Sparrow's Nest CSA brings Edmonton families closer together, and brings us -- the farmers -- closer to the families who directly support us.
Sharers provide two days' help at the farm. This helps keep costs
"in the family", so to speak. On a work day, a group of six or eight
people can help polish off a whole list of chores in a matter of hours,
leaving time for sharing a meal, going for a walk, or just hangin' out
in the hammock or around a fire. We also offer Non-working Shares, for
people unable to meet a work commitment in the garden.
